Bass Fishing Tournament on Mattawoman Creek Fish Kill

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is set to implement some management and reporting changes in light of a disastrous June where more than 600 fish were killed.

The fish kill happened just days after a fishing tournament in Mattawoman Creek and the Potomac River.

It is believed that the fish kill is the result of fishing tournaments, water temperature and recreational angler activities.
