I have heard many people say this pond is good only for the regular spring/fall trout stocking that MD DNR does here every year. They say that the only time to fish here is the 2 to 3 week period following that stocking.
I am here to tell you "they" are wrong.
Fishing this small pond regularly will produce a few quality fish - nothing that you would consider impressive.
Or at least that is what I used to think.
Earlier today I witnessed several bedding largemouth that would have easily gone 4 to 5 lbs.
No matter what I threw their way, nothing would get them to budge. I even dragged a black worm literally over one of them. The worm actually climbed the fish on one side and dropped off the other like it would travelling over a log.
I was standing possibly 8-10 feet away from these fish and they only moved to chase away the invading panfish every 15-20 minutes.
One thing is certain - this experience will change the way I fish this pond into the future.
